This summer I had the opportunity to
host my first photography workshop. Everyone who came learned a lot and had
a good time. Some asked if I would consider offering a winter photography
workshop. So now I have decided to offer a winter photography workshop. This
workshop would cover some of the same material as our summer workshop, but
with more of an emphasis on capturing Lake Superior during the winter. Winter
time along the North Shore has its many challenges and rewards for the photographer,
and is one of my favorite times of year to photograph. Traditionally, the last week
of January and the first week of February record some of the coldest temperatures
in Minnesota, so I thought this would be a great time to offer my winter
photography workshop. The Lake Superior winter shoreline can be covered in
unique ice formations, buried in snow, or engulfed in steam off the lake.
All of these conditions can create for some very dramatic photographs. If
you are interested in attending my winter photography workshop, please email
me or call me to reserve your spot.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
We will cover all the camera basics as well as composing and editing your
images. Everyone who attends will have the chance to print and mat one of
their own images. Participants will also be given a chance
to constructively critique their own work. When not in the field,
we will be meeting at the conference room at the AmericInn in Silver Bay.
This workshop is geared towards, but not limited to, beginner and intermediate
photographers. We will be meeting on Friday night and Saturday, and
there is a free optional Sunday morning sunrise for those interested.
