  • The following morning I woke up to -32 with a wind chill of -63. It hasn’t been this cold for a long time. After getting my truck started, I drove up to Hollow Rock for sunrise. There wasn’t a great sunrise, but I really liked the moody blues of the water, sky, and the ice.

  • Yes, that is me in Lake Superior. don't worry i had chest waders on. in fact, the water temperature was 60 degrees warmer than the air temperature. I actually stayed warm in the water for an hour, and didn't get cold until I got out of the water.
