A photographer friend and myself did a road trip down south. We drove over 4,000 miles in six days. This was our first stop. It is the Hodgson Water Mill in southeast Missouri. You might recognize this mill because it is on every package of Hodgson Flour.
We spent a little time in the Smokey Mountains. We were on the hunt for old barns, old homesteads, old cars, and old mills.

The Old Mill, Pigeon Forge (Tennessee).
We stopped at Old Car City for a couple of hours to take photographs. Sixty years ago this place was an auto salvage lot and now it is an automotive museum of natural history. Over 4,000 cars and trucks on 34 acres. You have to sign a waiver before entering warning you of poisonous snakes, spiders, and plants.
This car was here long before these two trees started to grow.
When you see thirty year old trees growing out of a vehicle, you know that vehicle has been sitting there a while.
All the vehicles at Old Car City are slowly being re-claimed by nature.

Old Car City has so many cars that a person almost feels overwhelmed trying to take it all in.
Here is a bus from the 50's. There was a hornet's nest inside the bus making it very challenging to photograph.
This is the tallest water wheel in the country.
We got caught in rush hour in Atlanta and made it to this mill just minutes before sunset (talk about cutting it close).

My friend and I would take turns driving while the other guy slept in back seat. This was taken in Savannah, Georgia. We arrived at this Atlantic beach in the middle of the night, slept for about one hour, then got up for the sunrise photos.
This is the Wormsloe plantation in Savannah, Georgia. Everything was so lush and green.
We drove by so many little gift shops. This one we had to stop and take a closer look.

This is the Angel Oak Tree in Charleston, South Carolina. The base of this ancient tree is over eight feet in diameter. This tree is over four hundred years old.
